Soberton front and rear garden project
Gates House Gardens were appointed to remodel both the front and rear gardens of a property in Soberton, including the installation of a new 8–10 person sewage treatment plant.
To the front, approximately 50 metres of hedging and trees were removed, including roots and stumps, before the area was regraded and enclosed with new post and rail fencing. The driveway was reshaped and finished in 20mm shingle, defined with 200mm metal edging and complemented by a reclaimed cobble rumble strip at the entrance. New storm drainage and a soakaway were installed, and additional excavation works created an improved parking area.
The rear garden was extensively reconfigured to address the existing slope and create structured, usable levels. Works included tree and shrub removal, construction of woven steel retaining walls, rendered blockwork planters and new sleeper raised beds. A new 3-metre-wide staircase was formed, finished with Dijon polished stone paving and bullnose step detailing. A stainless steel and glass balustrade was installed to the raised patio area, providing safety without interrupting views across the garden.
