Front Garden & Courtyard Glass Roof Project
Gates House Gardens were appointed to enhance the external appearance and accessibility of a beautiful Grade II listed thatched cottage in the Meon Valley. All works were carefully designed and executed to respect the character and heritage of the property while improving functionality and day-to-day usability.
The front garden was reconfigured to create an enlarged parking area capable of accommodating four vehicles. Excavation and groundworks were undertaken to reshape the space, incorporating curved woven steel retaining walls to manage levels and add a contemporary architectural edge.
Bespoke handmade woven steel electric gates were installed to provide secure access, complemented by woven steel fencing to the bin store and garden elevations — maintaining visual consistency across the frontage.
Within the courtyard, a substantial timber structure was constructed to create a sheltered, usable space. A structural glass roof was installed above, allowing natural light to flood the area while providing full weather protection.
New electrical installations were carried out throughout, including lighting, power supplies and automated gate systems.
